Sundance Film Festival 2004
True to its roots, the 2004 Sundance Film Festival was defined by the same sense of risk and discovery that has always distinguished independent filmmaking. The selection of Shane Carruth’s Primer – a film made in a Texas garage for $7,000 – as the Grand Jury Prize winner signified the Festival’s lasting celebration of the most independently made films. Films in all categories from Premiere to Frontier were well attended, showing that the Festival’s strength continues to be the diversity of its programming slate.
